| When should I arrive? Wasatch Powder Clinics strongly recommends that you arrive in Utah one full day before the clinic start date. This allows you to not only be sure to attend our pre-clinic kickoff meeting, but also allows for altitude acclimatization and a much-needed warm up day on the slopes. What do I bring? In addition to your usual ski gear, which should include megafat powder skis, hats, goggles, and everything else you'd use for resort skiing, we urge you to bring your own avalanche beacon, probe, shovel, and backcountry pack. If you do not own these items or do not want to travel with them, arrangements can be made for rental upon your arrival in Salt Lake City. Please specify on your confirmation email whether these arrangements need to be made. In addition, you'll have the rare opportunity to demo the latest powder skis from Dynastar and Atomic on one of the three days. |
Where do I stay? We recommend staying in Little Cottonwood Canyon due to the frequency of road closures in the canyon. You don't want to be stuck in the Salt Lake valley while the skiers at Alta are shredding fresh pow with no crowds. Our recommended lodging is the Alta Lodge: www.altalodge.com Will there be opportunities for photos & video? During one of your three clinic days, your group will be joined by professional ski photographer Jon Gurry. Jon works with many top athletes and is one the area's best ski photographers. Clients can purchase a variety of photo sizes at our wrap up meeting on the afternoon of day 3. We will also offer a complete video diary of the 3-day clinics. These videos will be viewed at our wrap up meeting, and copies will be available for purchase through Off Trail Productions. |
Getting Here Salt Lake City International Airport is 45 minutes door-to-door from Alta resort. Shuttles are available from the airport to Alta, or you can rent a car through all major car rental companies. What kind of skiing experience do I need? Wasatch Powder Clinics is recommended for highly-motivated advanced and expert skiers only. A strong ski and athletic base is essential to the success of your clinic. Can I choose my coach? Clients can expect to ski with four or five of our coaches throughout the 3-day clinic, and arrangements can made for single day follow-ups to the three day clinics.
